For many years George Clooney was the quintessential Hollywood bachelor with many short term romances with glamorous starlets and a professed opposition to ever getting married again. After a brief period of not so blissful marriage in the 1980s Clooney had sworn off the idea of another wedding and committed himself to a life of perpetual bachelorhood.
But all of that was to come to a speedy end when he was introduced to the stunning human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin who had been invited by a mutual friend to dinner in Clooney’s Lake Como estate. Within a couple of the years Clooney and Amal were married with children – much to the shock of both friends and fans of the actor.

July 2013 – The Glamorous Pair First Meet
George Clooney was relaxing at his famous Lake Como estate when he received a call from a friend who would be popping by for dinner that evening asking if he could bring along another guest – a human rights lawyer named Amal.
Before George even met his glamorous new dinner guest, the wedding predications were already arriving! Clooney received a call from his agent who predicted that he was going to marry the woman he would meet later that evening.
Needless to say, when Amal arrived, the pair got on like a house on fire and at the end of the night exchanged email addresses and a romantic correspondence soon struck up.
October 2013 – The Couple Enjoy Their First Date in London
After several months of getting to know each other by email, George and Amal finally met up in London to go on their first dinner date. The pair met at the famous Abbey Road Studios before heading out to a restaurant – with the paparazzi tagging along behind!
December 2013 – George and Amal Spend Christmas Together
Following their dinner date in London, things quickly began to progress for the pair and by the end of the year they were spending their Christmas vacation together in Mexico.
February 2014 – The Jet Setting Pair Head to Africa and George Decides He Will Propose
Amal and George started off the new year with a sojourn to Africa which would prove life changing for the pair. It was during this time that George first realised that he wanted to marry Amal and spend the rest of his life with her.
April 2014 – George Asks Amal to Marry Him in an Intimate Proposal at Home.
After decades of bachelorhood, it seemed that George could hardly wait to get down on one knee. And just a few months after their Africa trip, he did just that proposing while the pair were making pasta together at home! George later described the shocked Amal’s reaction “It was 20 minutes of me on my knee … because she was so shocked.”
September 2014 – George and Amal Tie the Knot in a Spectacular Celebrity Filled Venice Ceremony
The lawyer and actor made things official in a glamorous ceremony in Venice surrounded by family and celebrity friends such as John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon. Aman wore a gorgeous dress from Giorgio Armani and the happily married pair waved to the well-wishers and photographers who lined the canal banks.
January 2015 – The Married Couple Make Their Red Carpet Debut
The celebrity newlyweds mad their first red carpet appearance as a married couple for the Golden Globes, where George weas being honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Amal made the first of many stunning red carpet appearances which have led to her current style icon status.
February 2017 – The Clooney’s Announce they are Expecting Twins
After enjoying marital bliss for a couple of years, the delighted pair revealed that they were set to become parents! George told a French Tv station “We are really happy and really excited.”
June 2017 – Ella and Alexander George Enter the World
In June, Amal and George welcomed twins to the family. The siblings were born just minutes apart in London. The couple confirmed the birth in a humorous statement that concluded “George is sedated and should recover in a few days!”
May 2018 – George and Amal Attend the Royal Wedding
Celebrity watchers at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spotted George and Amal amongst the guests entering the chapel. And it turned out that the royal pair and the Clooney’s were neighbours who had even gone on a few double dates together!
September 2019 – The Celebrity Couple Celebrate Their Five year Anniversary
The married couple headed to New York city to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary with celeb pals Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber at a high-end ribs restaurant.
2020 – 2021 – George and Amal Quarantine with their kids in LA
When the pandemic hit, the Clooney’s stuck it out in their home in Los Angeles and donated $1 million toward coronavirus relief efforts. Although many relationships were strained by covid lock down restrictions, George revealed that he and Amal had no such problem, claiming “ We haven’t ever had an argument.”
September 2022 – George and Amal Attend the Premiere of George’s Latest Movie
Fans of Clooney were able to spot the actor and his stunningly stylish wife at the London premiere of his new movie “Tickets to Paradise.” The ever fashion conscious Amal wore a gorgeous green dress and Cartier jewels as she laughed and joked with Clooney’s co-star Julia Roberts on the red carpet.
