Is it really as bad as you think being single at Christmas?
If you find yourself single at Christmas sit back and think of the position you are not being attached. Take some time to think of all the things you can do without having to consider someone else and go through the rigmarole of organising your time between two families and friends.
Spend time with your loved ones
Of course there are going to be family members who bring up the subject of you not being with someone over the festive period and if you have those really annoying family members who have been trying to get you together with someone your whole life they may tell you it is a shame that you are not with anyone. Remember that you function quite well without a partner and update everyone on the great things you have done. Your family love you for who you are and will be glad to see you regardless of your relationship status.
Accept all party invites
There will be no other time of the year where you will receive so many party invitations in one month. Say yes to them all and have a great time doing whatever you want whenever you want without attachments. Enjoy dressing up and meeting loads more people and have a great time doing it.
Money Saved
Without the hassle of trying to think of a great gift for your partner, you can put the money you saved to good use and get yourself a gift. Who better to by for than you? Think of something you really want and use the money you would have done on a partner and invest in yourself. You can even wrap it up and leave it under the tree. Who says you can only get presents from others?
Online Dating at Christmas
Even though you will be busy planning your next party outfit or dinner out, take some time to stick on some Christmas music, open up a box of chocolates and have a look at online dating. It can’t hurt can it? You never know who might be out there and by signing up to online dating sites you can have a look through as many potential daters as you like, all from the comfort of your warm house.
Start The New Year With A New You
What can be a better start than the start of the new year to make some changes. Starting fresh can be the ticket to feeling great about yourself however big or small the change may be. Remember you only have to think of yourself when you are making this new you. How can you make the new year the best one yet?
At the end of the day you need to see the positive things you can get out of being single at Christmas. You are not the only singleton out there so make the best of it. Things can get more complicated when you try to organise the holiday around two families. Think of how busy things get when you eventually have children and everyone wants to see them on the same day, then you will be stretched so thin the holiday can become more of a chore than a celebration.
Don’t worry so much, have some fun.
Merry Christmas!
