Crooner John Legend and Model Chrissy Teigen have become known for their stylish and loved up red carpet appearances. This Fairy tale Hollywood romance began on the set of a music video in 2006 and the romantic pair are now married with kids. But how did this celebrity romance first begin? 2006 – The Pair First Met While Filming a Music Video
Chrissy Teigen first met her future husband on the set of the music video for his single “Stereo.” The model and the singer spent 12 hours getting to know each other on set and when the time came to day goodbye at the hotel later – they didn’t!
2007 – First Romantic Vacation to Lake Como
After a year together (not including a break up which lasted less than a day), the couple made their first trip to Lake Como, a location which would become even more special to the pair in later years. Chrissy later revealed that during the trip she made a wish that John would be the man she would marry and have children with! A wish which was soon to be granted.
2008 – The Stylish Pair Made their First Red Carpet Appearance Together
John and Chrissy have become known for their affectionate and stylish appearance on the red carpet, and they made their very first press line trip together for the 50th Grammy Awards.
2011 – John Proposes to Chrissy
After five years of dating, John Legend proposed to Teigen while the pair were enjoying a Christmas holiday in the Maldives. John would later reveal that the surprise was nearly spoilt at the airport when security asked to look in his carry on bag while Chrissy was standing next to him!
Thankfully however, he managed not to give the game away and Chrissy first saw the ring while the pair were at dinner, and she found it hidden on a dessert dish. Needless to say, she accepted!
2013 – John Legend married Chrissy Teigen at the Courthouse
Two years after the proposal, the photogenic couple attended the Vera Wang Show at New York Fashion Week and then headed straight to the courthouse to make it official. Although the pair had bigger plans for their wedding celebrations abroad.
2013 – Wedding Number 2 in Lake Como
After their New York Courthouse Wedding, Legend and Teigen headed to Lake Como, Italy for a lavish, celeb-filled marriage extravaganza. Chrissy wore three different Vera Wang gowns as the pair celebrated their love in the romantic Villa Pizzo. And guests were treated to magical musical performances by Stevie Wonder and the groom himself!
2013 – John Releases “All of Me”
John’s celebrated ballad “All of Me” was inspired by his love for Chrissy and following the wedding, the pair appeared together in the music video which included footage from their Lake Como wedding.
2015 – A Pregnancy Announcement!
In an excited Instagram post the couple announced that after two years of marriage they were expecting their first child. Chrissy shared that the pair had been trying for quite a while, writing “It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world.”
April 2016 – Baby Luna Stephens Enters the World.
Chrissy and John delightedly announced the birth of their longed-for first child named Luna Sime Stephens.
2017 – Baby Number Two is One the Way
Proud parents John and Chrissy announced they were expanding their family with their second pregnancy a year and half after the birth of Luna.
2018 – The Couple Announce the Birth of Miles Stephens
The legendary couple proudly shared the news of the birth of their baby boy Miles Theodore Stephens.
2020 – A Third Pregnancy Announcement and a Loss
In the music video for John’s song wild, Chrissy made an appearance which had fans wondering whether baby number three was on the way. Chrissy later confirmed the rumours in a twitter post. Although the couple would later announce the heart breaking news that the child has passed due to a miscarriage. The couple were open and honest about their pain, sharing “we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
2022 – The Couple Continue to Flourish and Support Each Other
