2000/2001 – Beyoncé and Jay Z First Meet.
The couple are notoriously private about their relationship, but it is thought that they first began dating around this time. Beyoncé revealed in a Seventeen magazine interview in 2008 that she was 19 when she first began dating the hip hop star and they had been friends for about a year and half before that.
2002 – They Begin Their Incredibly Successful Musical Collaborations.
The musical couple started their extremely successful run of collabs with the classic “03 Bonnie and Clyde.”
2003 – The Couple Continue to Stay Tight Lipped About their Romance.
The next year Jay Z featured on Beyoncé’s huge hit “Crazy in Love” which ends up earning them a Best R&B Song Grammy. Despite featuring in each other’s projects, the couple still remain tight-lipped about their rumoured romance.
2004 – After Years of Rumours Beyoncé and Jay Z Make their Public Debut.
The couple finally confirmed their couple status on the VMA red carpet when they arrived together putting years of rumours to rest.
2006 – Beyoncé Hints at Becoming a Bride
Beyoncé began hinting at becoming a bride, telling Cosmopolitan Magazine that after attending her sister’s wedding, she had begun thinking about her own. In the interview she declared she wanted a big ceremony and to have her Destiny’s Child members Kelly and Michelle serve as bridesmaids.
2008 – Wedding Bells Start Ringing
Just two years later its announced that Jay Z and Beyoncé have tied the know in a top-secret ceremony. Jay Z later explained the couple’s decision to keep their wedding day as private a possible, in an interview with Vibe. “You have to have something that’s sacred to you.”
2011 – Beyoncé Confirms Her Pregnancy on Stage at the VMAs!
In the ultimate iconic pregnancy reveal, Beyoncé confirms her pregnancy onstage while performing her hit “Love on Top” at the VMAs.
2012 – Blue Ivy Carter in Born.
Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed their first child together when Blue Ivy was born on 7 January 2012 in New York City. Beyoncé would share the first photo of Blue Ivy on Instagram a month later with the caption “We welcome you to share in our joy.”
2013 – Beyoncé Shares Her Dream Family life in her Documentary
In the “Life is But a Dream” documentary fans were granted a rare glimpse into the couple’s family life.
2014 – Drama Begins to Unfold in a Notorious Lift Ride!
After years of seeming married and musical bliss which saw the couple successfully collaborate on music projects and grow their empire, a notorious piece of footage was released to the press which appeared to show Solange Knowles attack Jay Z. It was rumoured Solange was angry at Jay Z for cheating on his wife. Rumours begin to swirl of an upcoming divorce.
June 2014 – The Couple go “On the Run.”
Despite the drama, the couple hit the road in June on their wildly successful joint Music Tour called “On the Run.” Later jay Z would publicly share a video of their sharing wedding vows and things appeared to calm down again for the couple.
April 2016 – Beyoncé Hints at Infidelity in new Album
Despite sticking together and sharing new career heights, trouble in paradise is confirmed when Beyoncé drops her new album Lemonade. Several songs appear to hint at infidelity from Jay Z and fans begin to wonder about the identity of “Becky with the Good Hair!”
February 2017 – Beyoncé Announces Her Pregnancy
Despite rumours of strife and discord, Beyoncé announced that she and Jay Z were expanding their family with twins on the way!
June 2017 – Rumi and Sir Carter Arrive
The Knowles-Carter family is extended as the twins Sir Carter and Rumi arrive!
November 2017 – Jay Z confirms he was Unfaithful.
In an interview with The New York Times, Jay Z confirmed what many fans already strongly suspected, when he admitted to cheating on Beyoncé. The rapper blamed lack of communication and his shutting himself off from his wife for the infidelity.
June 2018 – The Couple Announce Another Joint Tour and Release their First Joint Album.
Beyoncé and Jay Z hit the road again on their second joint tour “On the Run II” where they perform hits from their joint album “Everything is Love.”
July 2022 – Beyoncé Releases her Renaissance Album
When Beyoncé releases her latest album, there are lyrics which indicate that she and Jay Z have put their past troubles to rest. “I Know nobody’s perfect, so I’ll let you be… They’re too hard on me, they’re too hard on you.”
Beyoncé dedicated the album to her children and husband on her website stating. “…a special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse…”
