Top 5 Autumn Date Ideas

Autumn can be a great time for dating, snuggling up together from the cold, enjoying the best of the outdoors on a frosty morning, and enjoying candlelit evenings as the dark draws in. Below we have picked our Top 5 Favourite Ideas for Autumn Dates. Let’s get started!

Go for a Walk in the Park.

When the leaves start to turn and your local parks turn distinctly golden, now is the time to put on your trainers, bundle up and go for a long walk in the park. You can set yourselves a photo challenge and see who can snap the most Instagram-worthy shot. Or else just luxuriate in the lovely surroundings, walking arm in arm and enjoying the wildlife on display.

Then when you reach the end of your walk, you can head to the local pub for some gastro grub and a relaxing drink.

Have a Shopping Date.

Head to your nearest high street and get both of your winter wardrobes sorted! You can challenge each other to find some great winter outfits, give each other a makeover or get each other’s winter work wardrobes all set. You’ll have a great time styling each other, experimenting, and perhaps snagging a few great bargains along the way. Then give your feet and credit cards a rest by popping into a café before you head home.

Take a Hike

Autumn makes many people want to hibernate, but you should still make the effort to get out there, get some fresh air and make sure you are still getting enough exercise. A romantic hike through the countryside can be the perfect way to do this. Bundle up warm, put on some walking boots, and look up the most picturesque walks in your area. You don’t have to aim to climb your local equivalent of Everest, there are bound to be some easy beginner-level flat walks you can enjoy.

Once your hike is over you can head to your local for a delicious roast, safe in the knowledge that you’ve earned the rights to all those carbs and beer!

Have a Cooking Date

Abandon the takeaway temptation and take some time to bond in the kitchen. Cooking is a fantastic, fun way for you to spend some time together and you get to enjoy eating the results. Perhaps you teach each other your favourite childhood meal? Or is there a cuisine you’d love to learn how to cook? You’ll be picking up a great new skill and enjoying each other’s company at the same time!

Have a Cinema Date

Autumn sees a slew of great cinema releases leading up to Halloween! The latest horror film provides the perfect excuse to head to the local cinema, enjoy some popcorn and hold each other through the scariest bits. We’re all used to streaming nowadays but making the effort to head to your local cinema can still be a fun way to make more of an event of watching a movie you’ve been looking forward to. And once the movie’s finished you can head to one of the local eateries to talk about your favourite parts!
