Top Tips for Being a Dating Success At Festive Parties

New Years and Christmas always comes with its fair share of office parties and get togethers, and it can be fantastic time to get to know people and connect with crushes you’ve had throughout the year. But, if you’re planning on being a successful flirter at your New Years or Christmas bashes, you need to keep the following tips in mind!

Don’t Become A Mistletoe Fiend!

The tradition of kissing under the mistletoe might seem like the perfect opportunity to grab a peck with your office crush. But many people feel anxiety at coming within five metres of this Christmas garland! For many people, mistletoe just represents awkward encounters and physically contact with people they’d rather avoid.

Instead concentrate on having fun, being sociable and being the kind of person your date would want to kiss without any Christmas trinket dangling over their head!

Limit Your Alcohol Intake to a Reasonable Amount

Christmas and New Years are a great excuse to drink, eat and be merry! But if you are attending a social occasion with work colleagues or someone you want to impress – make sure not to get too “merry!”

A loud drunk who bellows their repressed feelings to their crush in front of everyone or starts arguments based on yearlong grudges – is unlikely to make an attractive spectacle. If you have your eye on someone at the party or have brought a date, then limit your alcohol intake. You should make sure you’re always sober enough to present the best side of yourself to your prospective partner.

Don’t get Desperate!

If you are along during the festive period, it can be tempting to pursue connections with people you’ve avoided for the rest of the year, especially if your drunk at a party! But make sure you maintain your resolve. There will be very good reasons you’ve decided not to go there and they don’t disappear just because you need someone to kiss at midnight!

This is especially important when it comes to workplace dos. Only pursue connections if you think they may develop into something worthwhile. This way you’ll avoid awkward questions and encounters when heading back to work in the New Year!

Embrace the party Spirit

Your overall aim at any party should be to have fun, meet new friends and dance the night away. A happy confident person is always more attractive then a grinch who spends the night scowling in the corner!

So, make the effort to get involved, partake in party games, and embrace the festive spirit of your colleagues. Not only are you more likely to enjoy the night, you’ll some across as the kind of likable, confident and fun person your office crush might suddenly find more interesting!

And even if it doesn’t result in romantic success, you may find yourself strengthening friendships and developing new connections with members of the office you haven’t interacted with much before.

Above all, your aim should be to enjoy yourself!
